WELCOME TO BRIDGE MATH
Welcome to the start of a new school year! This year, students will be studying mathematics from the Glencoe-McGraw-Hill course material. The curriculum is problem centered and we will be utilizing a Blended Learning Model that combines online educational opportunities for interaction with traditional teaching. We will primarily use stations to move flexibly to mastery of the content that examines essential topics in Algebra & Geometry.
This means that the students will investigate mathematical ideas within the context of a realistic problem, as opposed to looking only at numbers. Some problems involve real-world applications or unusual situations, while others are purely mathematical. A problem’s context provides a vehicle for understanding and remembering the mathematical concepts. I am excited about this model and its potential for helping students develop strong mathematical knowledge and skills. This will be a new experience for all of us and I am looking forward to a successful year for all of my students!
